A new kind of public canvas has arrived in Birmingham.
VieuPoint, a striking 10.56m tall digital billboard installed on the A38 in Longbridge, is now live – transforming one of Birmingham’s busiest roads into a living gallery of art, culture and community spirit. While most outdoor displays are dominated by commercial advertising, VieuPoint flips the model entirely. 50% of screen time is dedicated to showcasing artwork, much of which drawn from the Vieunite Art Library – a curated collection of paintings, photography and visual works from local creators and world-renowned institutions.
As part of its launch, VieuPoint features an inaugural rotation of works by local Vieunite artists Jo Vincent, Alexander Rhys, Trev Clarke and Richard Battye – each bringing their unique visual perspective to the streets of Longbridge. In parallel, classic pieces from the Birmingham Museums collection and historic images of the Longbridge car plant, sourced by the Birmingham Photography Archive, are being displayed alongside uplifting captions that honour the area’s industrial legacy.
“VieuPoint is absolutely vital because the whole world is digital. Showing art in the community will spark interest and engage people,” said Jo Vincent, one of the first featured artists. “It will also show artists that there are more modern ways of sharing your art with the world. It’s about showing the world your viewpoint and how you see the world.”
A Canvas With a Community Purpose
More than just a digital art wall, VieuPoint is a platform for public expression – one that makes space for everyone. The remaining 50% of screen time is open to the public, with local residents able to book personal messages (such as birthday wishes, congratulations and marriage proposals) for just £80/day, and businesses able to advertise their services to over 100,000 passing vehicles daily, for £100/day.
All messages are booked through a simple self-service portal at VieuPoint.com, which includes a live visual preview before booking.
Each message plays every two minutes throughout the day, totalling at 510 times per day, ensuring high visibility and consistent impact. For artists, schools, community groups and local creatives, open submissions will be accepted in the near future, offering a rare opportunity to bring their work into the public eye in a highly visible and celebrated way.
Innovation Meets Infrastructure
Manufactured by Vieunite’s sister company, Allsee Technologies, the billboard is one of the largest digital displays in Birmingham, featuring a 443″ P6 DV-LED display. It stands outside the future site of the Allsee Innovation Centre, which will be Vieunite’s new home too, and is set to open in Spring 2026. This facility is part of a wider regeneration initiative bringing new investment, jobs and creative infrastructure to Longbridge.
For Vieunite, VieuPoint represents the next evolution in how digital canvas technology can be used: not just for commercial settings and residential interiors, but as a shared cultural resource for everyone.
