Celebrating Experimental Poetry: Vieunite Supports ‘Breaking Lines’ at the Estorick Collection

The Estorick Collection in London is renowned for its dedication to modern Italian art, and its latest exhibition, ‘Breaking Lines: A Journey Through Experimental Poetry, is a must-see for art and literature enthusiasts. Running until May 11th 2025, this thought-provoking exhibition explores the revolutionary world of experimental poetry, from the radical typographic experiments of Italian Futurism to the striking post-war concrete poetry.

Although perhaps better known today for its contribution to the visual arts, Italian Futurism was founded by poet Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, who aimed to “redouble the expressive force of words”. Breaking Lines explores this legacy, featuring rare works, key Futurist manifestos, and personal journals that helped spread these radical ideas.

The exhibition also highlights Dom Sylvester Houédard, widely recognised as one of the masters of concrete poetry. A Benedictine monk and experimental artist, Houédard blurred the boundaries between literature and visual art, leaving a lasting mark on British and global experimental poetry.

Making Art More Accessible with Vieunite

At Vieunite, we believe art should be experienced by as many people as possible. Our mission to make art more accessible is perfectly reflected in our support for ‘Breaking Lines’. We’re proud to have provided multiple Textura digital canvas for the exhibition, showcasing these ground-breaking works in a whole new way.

Textura adds a new dimension to the exhibition, enhancing the connection between visual and verbal art. It is hard to present art that needs to be interacted with in a way that people can truly enjoy, such as poetry books. Turning the pages can damage these delicate works, while leaving them open on just one page doesn’t fully capture the richness of the poetry. That’s where Textura comes in. With its dynamic video capabilities, we can present the entire book in full context, preserving its integrity and avoiding any damage. By blending technology with historic art movements, we’re helping bridge the gap between past and present, elevating the exhibition experience for all visitors.

Don’t miss this captivating journey through experimental poetry. Breaking Lines is open until May 11th 2025 – plan your visit now and experience it for yourself!
